Can I really charge 6 EVs simultaneously at home?
Yes, with proper load orchestration. Six Level 2 chargers at full 48A each would require 288A of dedicated capacity — beyond most residential services. With load sharing, the 6 chargers split available amperage based on what's actually plugged in: when only 2 are charging, they share 240A circuit at 48A each (full speed); when all 6 are plugged in, they share at 40A each (still excellent charging speed). Most multi-EV households don't actually need all 6 charging simultaneously at full speed — overnight charging windows easily handle realistic usage patterns.
Does estate-scale charging need a 400A service?
Sometimes. A 200A service can support 3-4 chargers with load sharing if other household loads are typical. A 400A service is the right answer for 5-6 chargers, or for households with heat pump + multiple ovens + hot tub + EVs. We run detailed load calculations as part of estate quote — sometimes 400A is necessary, sometimes 200A with load sharing works fine. PG&E coordination for 400A service is involved (4-8 weeks) but routine.
Can I integrate EV charging with solar and battery storage?
Yes — estate-scale installs often integrate with solar PV and battery storage (Tesla Powerwall, Enphase IQ Battery, Sonnen). Smart load management routes solar production to EV chargers during the day, draws from battery during evening peak rates, and charges EVs from grid during overnight off-peak. Modern integration is straightforward if all components are from compatible ecosystems (Tesla solar + Powerwall + Wall Connector integrates natively; mixed brands require additional integration controllers).
Do you offer service contracts for ongoing charger management?
Yes, for estate-level accounts. Typical service contract includes semi-annual property visit (charger inspection, firmware updates, electrical safety check), priority response for any issues (24-hour response window typical), and annual electrical safety audit of the EV charging system. Cost ranges $1,200-$3,600/year depending on system scope and visit frequency. Most estate properties find ongoing service worth the investment for system reliability and discreet handling of issues.
How do you handle pricing — flat fee or hourly?
Both, depending on scope. Routine service calls and predictable scope (panel replacement, EV charger install, transfer switch install, fixture replacement) are flat-fee quoted up front. Diagnostic visits and emergency scope are hourly because we don't know what we'll find. Either way, you get a written quote before work starts on anything significant, and we don't proceed beyond the quote without your sign-off.
How quickly can you schedule?
Depends on scope and season. Emergency dispatch: same-day across Marin County (1-3 hours business hours, 1-4 hours after-hours). Same-day standard service: 3-6 hours from call when capacity allows; otherwise next business day. Scheduled service work: 1-3 weeks typical. Larger projects requiring permits and PG&E coordination: 4-12 weeks depending on scope. We're upfront about timeline at the quote stage.
What warranty do you offer on work?
Our standard residential warranty: 2 years on labor, manufacturer warranty on parts (varies by product — typically 1-10 years). Major installs (panels, generators, EV chargers) often have longer manufacturer warranties (5-10 years). If there's an issue with our work in the warranty period, we come back and fix it at no cost. We also stand behind work past warranty — repeat customers and referrals matter more than a transactional fix.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. California State License Board C-10 Electrical Contractor #989290, in good standing. Carry general liability insurance and workers' compensation insurance as required by California law.
