01What AFCIs do and when they were mandated.

Real fault: trips consistently with specific load or after specific events (plugging in specific appliance, after rain, with specific appliance use). Often other symptoms accompany (visible damage, smell, sound). Nuisance trip: trips intermittently without clear pattern, often with no other symptoms, sometimes resetting cleanly and running for periods then tripping again.

AFCI age and brand
